They will however, undoubtedly find the product, service or offer they seek; typically from a similar website or blog, because that website or blog not only provided those targeted leads with what they were looking for, but they also provided the search engines with the information that allowed them to be ranked much higher than you.

Since blogs are updated more frequently, they tend to be visited more by the search engine’s crawlers.  Generally, this is why blogs or websites similar to blogs, rank higher when stacked against other types of websites that battle for identical keyword or keyword phrases.

Those with fresh useful content that are well optimized will rank rather high.  A high rank equates to greater traffic.  WordPress is a popular and easy to use blog software that can be installed on a website and literally has thousands of handy plug-ins, several of them are designed to help you attract traffic and targeted leads.  For search engine optimization (SEO), here is a great word press plug-in that I use to help me with my SEO efforts when I write my blog post.  This is a very easy, straight forward SEO plug-in that walks you through a check list of necessary SEO steps as you write your post.  These steps are the steps or information that the search engines are looking for when they crawl your site or your post.

Now that you’ve identified and know who your leads are, have chosen a marketing strategy and have created a free value proposition, it’s now time to get your potential lead’s attention and begin to establish the foundation for building your lead list.  In step 4 of the “Seven Must Knows” to lead generation, it’s about creating an effective lead capture page; sometimes referred to as a squeeze page or landing page.  If you are serious about building your business online, you must have a lead capture page in order to effectively attract your potential leads.

A lead capture page’s function is to do precisely what it’s name implies…it captures your lead’s information such as name, email, phone number, etc as they visit your page.  A lead capture page is a page that gives your page visitors a sneak peek of what’s to come after they enter their information into the page form.

Your lead capture page needs to be configured in such a way, in which it captures your audience’s attention and be enticing enough to peak their curiosity thereby causing them to enter the information which you require. I. D. A. which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action.
